Richard D. Baerg, M.D.
Dr. Baerg graduated from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma and The University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle. He completed his internal medicine and gastroenterology training at Columbia University in New York City.
Before returning to Tacoma in 1973, Dr. Baerg served as assistant chief of the gastroenterology service at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, and on the faculties of Columbia University, The University of Texas, and Harvard Medical School.
Since establishing his gastroenterology practice in Tacoma, Dr. Baerg has been on the Governor's Council of The American College of Physicians, president of the Tacoma Academy of Internal Medicine, and served in various medical staff leadership positions at Allenmore Hospital, St. Joseph's Medical Center and Tacoma General Hospital.
His current interest in the delivery of quality endoscopic services in the ambulatory setting led Dr. Baerg to election to the Governing Board of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. |
